Mr. David Wm. Ames, BSc, MSc, Past President

David Ames is the Director of Emerging Technologies and Health Economics for Johnson & Johnson Medical Products in Canada

His current responsibility includes the evaluation of new impactful medical technologies, assessing their applicability to the Canadian marketplace as well as working with the marketing divisions to provide clinical and economic evidence to support patient benefit and healthcare system value.

David has worked with Johnson & Johnson for 28 years

holding a variety of senior managerial positions in R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Sales and Marketing and Strategic Affairs.

David has extensive experience with new medical technologies but particularly being responsible for the Canadian clinical trials as well as the market launch of coronary stents.

A graduate of The University of Guelph and the University of Laval, David holds a Masters in Science degree in applied industrial microbiology, is a member of the Canadian College of Microbiology as well as a fellow of the American Society of Brewing Chemists.

David lives in Peterborough with his wife Helena and their two children Emily and Ian.
