Melissa Northwood

Dr. Melissa Northwood is a Registered Nurse and an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at McMaster University in Ontario, teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs. She conducts collaborative research through partnerships with older adults and health and social care providers to improve the well-being of older adults, enhance the culture of the practice environment, and foster health system integration. Melissa is a member of the Nursing Committee of the International Continence Society. Prior to joining the School of Nursing in 2020, Melissa had a lengthy practice career across health care sectors, including as a nurse continence advisor in home and community care.
